St. Clair Software today releases Jettison 1.1, an update to their purpose-built application for Mac OSX. Jettison automatically ejects external drives before your Mac goes to sleep. It eliminates the hassle of manually ejecting Time Machine backup drives, network server volumes and flash drives before you put your MacBook to sleep. Just close the lid and Jettison does it for you. Version 1.1 includes a compatibility fix for Lion and adds the option to run without Jettison’s icon in the menubar.

Wolf Studios today announces War of Words Free 3.0 for iOS, their crossword puzzle game featuring Action Tiles in addition to Letter Tiles. Played much like other crossword games, players have 8 tiles on their racks and can play both Action and Letter tiles during their turn. IDC Projects announced the beta launch of Hazards, their newest app for iOS and Android. Hazards is a social game that will use the phone’s GPS to compete with friends by placing “hazards,” virtual traps placed in real locations.
