Aperture 3 Announced

Apple is no longer present at Macworld conferences, but still managed to announce a major product update to get some attention this week at the start of the annual tradeshow.

Aperture 3, Apple’s pro level photo management and  editing software, adds “over 200 new features”.  Most notable about this release:

  • Includes pro level versions of Faces and Places introduced in iPhoto ’09
  • A new image refinement tool called Brushes, allowing users paint directly on images
  • Projects – for organization and flexibility
  • Full screen photo browser
  • Advanced Slideshows
  • 64-bit capable on Snow Leopard, requires Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.2 or later

Apple just updated the Aperture site, so head on over to read more about this update.
