Apple Gets Rid of Justin Long for Mac Commercials
I have to say that I’m pretty disappointed with this decision from Apple. For those that don’t know, I’m a huge fan of this latest round of Apple commercials. These are far better than the switcher ads and other stuff previously and really gets the point across about just how great the Mac really is. I think that Justin comes across as a really likable, hip Mac. I had no idea that evidently there were so many people out there that liked the PC guy better. I mean, he just comes off as a loser to me. Maybe I’m entertaining the thought that I’m somehow cool because I use a Mac, but that’s how I look at it. I see the Mac community as superior in most respects to the rest of the computing community for various reasons and Justin just personified that for me. To get rid of him and to continue this current line of advertisements just seems like a very stupid decision. I guess I could be wrong and I’ll be the first to admit if the next generation of Apple commercials are still awesome and as easy to fall in love with. However, I’m just voicing my concern that I think Apple has made a big mistake and should have tried to keep the hip and cool Mac guy. Geeky isn’t the new cool. It won’t ever be.
