Well, I have to say that I’ve never had to deal with any sort of abuse with the website since I went online, coming up on six months ago here in a few weeks. However, I was checking my email as I was sitting in class today and was surprised to see that there were around 70 new messages for me (and Entourage checks like every 5 minutes, so that is saying a lot).

Come to find out, the site had been hit with several lovely “pingbacks” that show up in the comments of the posts. I have it setup to send me an email whenever we get a comment and therefore I got all of these. However, it took me a little while to delete them and more were appearing. It looks like putting the word “credit” in the comment blacklist was able to curb them, but still, this is pretty pathetic if you as me.

For the record, all the comment titles had the word “credit” in them, as in refinancing, etc…so I’m not crazy.
