ecto, Journler, MacJournal and BlogThing Review

Might be a long name for an episode, but I look into the top 4 candidates that I found for managing a blog and compare their strengths and weaknesses. Cover the usual rumors and news, ask for feedback from listeners on the iTMS and music this week is “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” by Big & Rich.

Nice review. I personally use MarsEdit. It’s made by the same people who made NetNewsWire… my RSS reader of choice. I haven’t used Ecto, but my understanding is they are similar, and it just comes down to personal preference on which one is better.

One thing you may be interested in is WP Tiger Admin. It’s a Wordpress plugin that reformats the Wordpress administration pages to look more “Mac like”.

I have tried the WP-Tiger-Admin plugin, but it didn’t quite view right on some pages. I didn’t get that much time to play with it, so I might download it again and try reinstalling it to see if maybe something was just a tad wrong somewhere.

I’ll look into MarsEdit also, seems promising. Thanks for the tip.

Journler 2.0 will be out on June 14th. Re-review it. It is both prettier and easier.

Journler is not shareware. Journler is donationware. Although I request money for the program, I do not charge for it.

Looks as though I made a serious mistake on the pricing of the software then. I’ll mark the 14th on my calendar and be sure to look over the software again, thanks for the tip!

No worries. Boy I screwed up the html popup button though. I forget to reconnect it when I moved things around. I’m posting a 2.0.1 maintenance first week of July that takes care of the problem and a number of others.
