This is an application that I have heard so much about but haven’t played around with that much. I downloaded a demo today to look at it, and I have to say that I’m very impressed with it so far. I think that I might look into seriously using it once I get myself a new Intel Mac with a built-in iSight
Until then however, I don’t see myself entering everything by the keyboard.

I’m a little late on posting the news for this one, but we’ve hit 1 billion songs from the iTunes Music Store. That’s a lot of legal music. I wonder if they’re counting the number of videos downloaded too, and will do the same thing later on? I suppose so, cause they’ve got to have statistics.

This might be a tad old-school for some people, but I still love this computer. The Mac Mini is cool, but the Cube is so much cooler. If only they still weren’t so durn expensive and I could justify buying a 400mhz G4 again…
Check out this episode for a cool commercial

Okay, I was just reading an article about thoughts on the new Macbook, and found something that is so amazing, I just can’t stress it enough!!
“In what appears to be a huge step for Apple, the new AirPort card is a mini-PCI Express card that should improve bandwidth and compatibility. Mini-PCI express is a standard socket, which allows for a variety of upgrades to be done internally, however it’s unclear if Apple will fully support the technology in this fashion.”
So, we may actually be able to pop in a regular card here in the next bit, instead of paying for an over priced Airport card? While this is exciting, I don’t think that it will be of much use in the near future. Apple most likely won’t support anything besides their cards, and it’s hard enough to shop for a printer with Tiger drivers, let alone get a wireless card for Mac. The possibility exists though. I’m sure someone will get a Super-G type card working….wouldn’t that be fun? Not to mention that other internal cards besides wireless are possible.
Mini-PCI in a Mac, imagine the possibilities…

I’m a HUGE Law and Order SVU fan, so this got my attention real quick. There is a new show being produced by Dick Wolf (this guy must never sleep he produces so many shows) called “Conviction”. It depicts the lives of young Assistant District Attorney’s from NYC. I was interested because it brings back a character that we lost from SVU back in it’s 5th season, Alexandria Cabot played by Stephanie March. Anyway, the first episode is available free for download, as well as an accompanying music video and some behind the scenes stuff.
NOTE: Just click the picture above, and it’ll take you directly to the page in the Music Store. It won’t open an iTunes window however, you have to open it yourself

First of all, you can get your own copy of this very cool and, I almost dare say it, next generation web browser here.
I won’t go over a lot of features here because I plan to do a podcast episode on this soon (or an actual online review if I get the time, *cough, cough*), but check this out in the mean time. It integrates really well with Flickr, blogging services, etc. It just looks really awesome and handles the extra stuff besides basic browsing really well. I would switch to this in a second if it just had better RSS support. This is another good example of building a product on top of the mozilla codebase.
As a quick side note, I got motivated when playing with all the extras in the browser and setup a blog API (Wordpress) on my server, to try out the browser. Works very well and you can check out the resulting effort here.
I’m also posting some screenshots of using Flock here, so check those out to view the cool features I’m talking about.

Okay, I was working on the podcast tonight, and went to import some songs into Garageband….and I noticed something. AAC-protected songs don’t show up in the media browser..at all. So I tried to import them manually, but it gave me an error message. So, if I own the songs, Apple won’t let me use them in my own iLife apps? That’s just messed up!!

Okay, I’m almost embarrassed to post this here. But, I read the article and it just made me even more grateful to be a Mac user. Off all the top ten reasons to get Microsoft’s next version of Windows due out later this year, the only one that I don’t have with my iBook and Tiger is “Better Media Support”, meaning support for HD DVD, Blu-Ray Discs, that sorta thing.
You can read the article here.
